IN THE FRUIT GARDEN...

cirtus_fert.jpgFeed... your citrus trees with Kings Citrus Tree Fertiliser as they make prolific growth now. Thin out big clusters of fruit to improve fruit quality.

Spray... Pip and stone fruit with Yates Champ Dp to protect against leaf curl, leaf blight, leaf spots, downy mildew, black spot and verrucosis. It’s also a good time to prune stone fruit trees and seal with pruning paste. Do these things after leaf-drop has begun and collect and dispose of all leaves into the rubbish not the compost heap. Watch out for mildew on Tamarillo as they reach maturity. Spray with Yates Fungus Fighter.

LAWNS, POTS AND GENERAL THINGS...

SaturAid_2.5lt_tub.jpgSow new lawns NOW... Kings have all you need. Just ask our knowledgeable staff for assistance. This is also a good time to top-dress existing lawns with screened soil and fresh seed. MY BEST LAWN TIP... mix Saturaid with the lawn seed and broadcast over the area, this will improve even water penetration through the soil and reduce dry patches.

Mulch Your Garden... It will help insulate the soil and keep it warm. Spread a thick layer of Kings Compost around the drip line of trees and shrubs, taking care not to cover the trunk of the plant or tree, OR... Use Pea Straw and Lucerne mulch. This mulch has the added bonus of adding nitrogen to the soil.

fast_food_1.jpgHanging Baskets... Now you will be replanting for Autumn and Winter so replace the used soil with Container mix and remember feed every 10 to 14 days with Kings Liquid Fast Food. If you have a Shrub in a basket or pot top-dress the soil with Kings Pot Booster for a balanced nutrient revival, continue to feed every 14 days with Kings Fast Food and sprinkle Saturaid onto the soil to give good water spread through the soil.
