Where to sow
Best sown into a tray of quality seed raising mix.
Where to grow
Very adaptable. Grows just about anywhere. Does well in a damp corner where not much else will grow. Also tolerates exposed windy and salty conditions.
Cover with a fine mix to a depth of 1/2cm.
Cover with plastic to conserve moisture. Remove plastic often to allow ventilation. Keep moist throughout the germination period. Germination can be slow & erratic. As seedlings grow, provide increasing quantities of light and fresh air.
New Zealand Natives often take a little while to germinate. Please be patient, they are worth the wait!
