Height & Spread
Small shrub, 1-2 metres.
Sow anytime indoors. Soak seed overnight. Spread seed between layers of wet paper towel. Seal in a plastic bag with plenty of air space. Refrigerate for 4 weeks. Keep moist.
Where to sow
Best sown into a tray of quality seed raising mix.
Where to grow
Very adaptable. Grows just about anywhere.
Place seed thinly on surface of soil only. Do not cover seed with soil.
Cover with plastic to conserve moisture. Remove plastic often to allow ventilation. Keep moist throughout the germination period. Germination can be slow & erratic. As seedlings grow, provide increasing quantities of light and fresh air.
To maintain a fresh look all year round, cut back after flowering.
New Zealand natves often take a little while to germinate. Please be patient, they are worth the wait!
