It was a rainy morning with an All Blacks World Cup game on but the crowds still showed up for the first Takanini Farmers' Market on Saturday, 3 October 2015.
New café Friend of the Farmer and Kings Plant Barn Takanini are bringing a farmers market with a twist to Takanini from early October.
So here we are, after 22 years we have had a make over. Calm, or something like it, has descended on Kings Plant Barn St Lukes now that all the building work has finished. There are some fairly major changes. The indoor area has become larger, lighter, and warmer, the exit is now the entrance, and much of the layout has changed.
Now that the loud arrhythmic banging of construction workers has ended, and the dust has settled, it’s nice to see what has resulted from all the hard work.
Thanks to everyone that came in last week for their patience during the loud beeping, banging, and thudding of construction workers last week. The worst noises are now behind us (hopefully) but we’re confident that the work being done will make it far easier for customers and staff to move around the store, especially when it is busy.
Peace and quiet, or something like it, has once again descended on our Takapuna store now that the builders have finished. We’d like to thank everyone that has come in for their patience. But even if the din of building was hard to endure, we are fairly hopeful that the new indoor layout will make it better for staff and customers alike.
Veteran restaurateur John Palino, former host of The Kitchen Job and Auckland mayoral candidate, has just opened his latest venture, Friend of the Farmer Café at Kings, 163 Airfield Rd, Takanini.
