Basil Pesto

1 1⁄2 cup basil
1⁄2 cup parsley
1 garlic clove (quartered)
⅓ cup nuts (pinenuts, walnuts or almonds)
¼ parmesan (grated)
⅓ cup olive oil (extra virgin)
3 Tbsp lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste


  1. Combine basil, garlic, your selection of nuts, parsley (this can include both the leaves and stalks), and parmesan into a food processor. Pulse until mix is even.
  2. As the processor is still on, slowly add the olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
